our story

The Great Apparel is a passion-project and a family-owned business I founded in 2023.

I am a first-generation Spanish immigrant who grew up in California. I have enjoyed the great California wilderness and outdoors since I was a child. My husband and I passed on the love of the great outdoors to our sons, which created a family tradition of visiting Yosemite annually. As the family tradition grew, so did my desire to keep places like Yosemite beautiful and clean.

Determined to channel my desire to preserve and enhance the great outdoors, I created a minimalist line of clothing company with the goal of promoting outdoor life as well as donating a portion of my sales to environmental charities and initiatives.

I believe that The Great Apparel embodies the belief that businesses can drive meaningful change; changes that people can work towards a cleaner and greener future.

THE WALLIS ANNEBERG WILDLIFE CROSSING

Each season, The Great Apparel will donate 10% of all proceeds to a different environmentally-friendly project or charity.

Currently, we are focusing our efforts on the Wallis Annenberg Liberty Canyon Wildlife Crossing project. This project aims to protect and preserve the natural habitat and wildlife in the Santa Monica Mountains. By contributing to the construction of a safe passage over the US-101 freeway, your purchases will help to prevent the extinction of the local mountain lion population. This project represents a crucial step in preserving biodiversity and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the region's wildlife.

We are excited to be part of this initiative and look forward to the completion of the crossing in 2025.
